Day 250 of the 365 to 40 project. Despite still being cold and windy we were lucky enough to have a sunny enough break at the end of the day to take a quick walk for some exercise. On that walk we went past a plat that had a spike of these wonderful highly colourful “pods” which I took just one of as I thought the colour would make a wonderful contrast shot. Because it’s too tricky to use my usual method of locking it into a plamp and raising it up to get the dark background I had to show this one against a flat black background. What did I use? Just the end cap of another lens, well dusted. Worked out great. After a little bit of research it turns out this was a flower pod from an aloe plant but before they had opened up.
