Day 232 of the 365 to 40 project. An unexpected find in the garden. I was actually set up in the garden with the telephone lens trying to take photos of birds only to realise I had left it too late in the day and they were already flying off to roost. As I was checking the plants I found this praying mantis hanging around in our nectarine tree. This shot was with phone only in dying light so not great but I didn’t have time to switch out to the bigger gear. While I could have taken the insect inside my rule of thumb is not to disturb them too much, especially if they are beneficial critters like this one. Hopefully I might be able to find it again in the next few days and take some better shots.
