Day 40 of the 365 to 40 project. This may look like a ratty moth eaten carpet but it is in fact a very up close look at an old dried out butterfly wing that I’ve kept in a closed container for some years. Over time some of the scales have been knocked off the surface. For the record no I did not kill this insect, I found it dead on the ground at a local park.
